Spot welding and painting are the key operations in the manufacturing processes of home appliances.

GA has the best paint adhesion property among steel products, thus shorten the paint coating time. Power voltage should be reduced to minimize spark production; hence, when using the same paint coating procedure for surface treatment, GA manifests better paint adhesion quality. Moreover, a faster painting procedure reduces the problem of over-thick coating.

The welding application of GA alloy as surface treatment makes the product more conductive for spot welding work. Cold rolled steel has a continuous spot welding life of over 10000 spots, but for GA, it is over 5000 spots.  Hence, GA steel is highly suitable for use in the manufacturing of microwave ovens which employs multi-spot welding process.
