In view of the environment protection laws and regulations of Europe, it is imperative for majority of galvanized steel products to be chromium-free. Hence, the corrosion resistibility hours of the chromium-free galvanized steel products are reduced in the EG/GI salt spray test.
The hot-dip GA material does not contain hexavalent chromium in the manufacturing process. After undergoing the painting process, GA can improve salt spray test up to 720 hours. Due to the special surface treatment of the alloy, GA material possesses the optimum paint adhesion property among all coated steel products; it is even ideal for PVC lamination. Many office partition wall and steel furniture makers have abandoned EG/GI materials and opted for GA due to the excellent corrosion resistance rendered by the special surface treatment process of GA.
